Dr. Christina Desmond, PT, DPT
Christina grew up in West Sand Lake, NY, and after 25 years away from the area performing music and teaching music and martial arts, she moved back to Rensselaer County to attend Russell Sage College to pursue her additional passion of a Physical Therapy career to provide rehabilitative services to people. After graduating with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, she worked briefly as a part-time Physical Therapist in outpatient orthopedic settings in Greene County before joining the team full-time at Choice Physical Therapy.

Christina seeks to apply the skills and experience she gained in clinical rotations in pediatric, in-patient rehab, and out-patient orthopedic settings while studying at Sage, along with her long-time training emphasis on healthy body mechanics as a martial artist and musician to her patient care every day at Choice. She is looking forward to the opportunity to earn future additional certifications, particularly SFMA, FMS, and OCS, to learn and develop new ways to apply t’ai chi-related body mechanics to physical therapy rehabilitation, and to helping area musicians with injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Christina enjoys spending time with her two sons and the family’s numerous pets, gardening, hiking, kayaking, teaching t’ai chi and private music lessons, and volunteering with a local community orchestra.
